I am doing this from Rog's computer and don't have an updated photo to attach...my apologies. Well, we have officially started to pack! Things are starting to get hectic as we are packing for so many things. We have to pack for a year of language learning in Quebec (we fly out July 4) and then we are packing up to have our stuff ready to be sent off to Africa when we are away in Quebec. We are also storing some of our stuff at our house while Suzzy (my sister) and her family stay there. We are so thankful that we don't have to sell our house on top of everything else that is on our plate! It seems pretty crazy that just last October (2009) we were still not 100% sure where God was leading us to go full time and now, less than 7 months later, our lives have taken a totally unexpected turn! After 9 years of wondering "where do you want us to go God, and isn't it time yet?!" Just be careful what you ask for :)
So for those who are interested, my last day of work is officially May 21st, and our family is off to Houston to celebrate Rog's dad's 70th birthday from May 22-31. We then leave for training in Calgary for 2 weeks from June 6-17th.
We are having our commissioning service at church Sunday, May 16th at 10:30am (Southgate Alliance Church in Edmonton) for those around. There is also a potluck lunch after. Please come by to hear about how we got to where we are and what God is doing now!
Sorry for the negligence with this blog...I am still new at this but hope to keep up more diligently.
Will post next time with pictures.
Mira
